Tamás Kovács lived in Budapest. He was trying to escape to Slovakia with his mother when they were denounced and arrested. Both of them were imprisoned in the Sárvár internment camp by the Hungarian authorities. On July 24 or August 4, they were deported by the SS to Auschwitz with one of the last transports. He was twelve. His mother did not return either.
