Györgyi must have been 8 years old when she and her mother, Margitta Weisz, were sent to the ghetto in Felsőgalla at the end of May 1944. On 8 June they were transported to Komárom and deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Györgyi and her mother were killed by the SS on 17 June 1944, the day of their arrival. Her father Ignác Weisz and her father’s brother survived the Holocaust as labor servicemen.
