György was about 10 years old when he and his mother, Berta Weisz, were taken to the ghetto in the synagogue in Felsőgalla. On 8 June 1944, the gendarmes took them to Komárom, from where they were soon deported. On 17 June 1944, they arrived in Auschwitz-Birkenau and were gassed the same day. His father, József Weisz, died as labor servicemen.
