At the age of six, Gábor was sent with his father, András Fuchs, to the Győrsziget collection camp for Jews. In June they were taken to the abandoned barracks of a World War I prisoner-of-war camp. Two transports left Győr. András and his father probably went on the first train and arrived in Auschwitz-Birkenau on 15 or 16 June 1944. They were killed the same day.
