Újpest (ma: Budapest), 20 November 1937 – Auschwitz-Birkenau, 10 July 1944
Laci was not even seven years old when he and his family were sent to the Újpest ghetto in the last week of May 1944. In the first days of July, the Jews of Újpest were driven by Hungarian gendarmes to the brick factory in Budakalász. László and his two-year-old sister Ágnes were deported on one of the last transports on 8 July. They were gassed on arrival in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
