Vera and his family were transported from Hajdúdorog to the collection camp set up in the Serly brick factory, Debrecen. Between June 25-29, they were deported to Auschwitz by the Hungarian authorities.  She was gassed together with her older brother, seven-year-old László. Vera was 4.
