The Jews of Várpalota were ordered to the ghetto in and around the synagogue at the end of May 1944. Imre Rosner, his wife and their five-year-old daughter Judit were among them. On 19 June 1944, the gendarmes herded them to the railway station amid beatings, and from there they were transported to the collection camp set up in the rayon factory in Sárvár. From there they were sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau on 4 July. All three members of the Rosner family were killed there on 7 July.
