The four-year-old boy was deported with her family as stateless in the summer of 1941 by the Hungarian authorities to Kosiv, Ukraine. Later the Jews in Kosiv were either shot dead by the Nazis and their accomplices or deported and murdered in the gas chambers of Belzec in 1942.
