Miskolc, 22 July 1943 – Auschwitz-Birkenau, around 15 June 1944
Baby József was less than a year old when he was deported by the Hungarian gendarmes (probably on 12 June 1944). According to family memories, they were sent to the concentration camp in Bergen-Belsen. It is more likely, however, that Józsika was gassed in Auschwitz-Birkenau with her mother, 25-year-old Zsuzsa Klein, if he survived the journey in the cattle car at all. Her father Sándor survived the Holocaust and settled in Buda as a picture framer.
