Two-year-old György Friedmann was deported from Békéscsaba on 27 June 1944. The train carrying 3118 Jews crossed the Hungarian border at Kassa (Kosice) and arrived at Auschwitz-Birkenau on 29 June. After arrival, the children were killed by the SS in one of the gas chambers. Gyuri was among them.
