Seven-year-old Adél was crammed into the ghetto in May 1944, along with her family members and ten thousand other Jews in Miskolc. The area was evacuated on 5 June, when they were driven to the Tatar Street brickworks, from where the deportation trains left for Auschwitz between 12 and 15 June. The vast majority of the deportees were killed on arrival, Adél was among them.
