Amsterdam, 19 October 1940 – Auschwitz, 6 September 1944
The hearing impaired four-year-old Jolán Schenk, her sister Jeanette Regina and their parents were taken from Amsterdam to the Westerbork internment camp in the summer of 1944. Their father was Hungarian, their mother was born in Belgium. The Nazis deported them with the last transport to Auschwitz – the one that also took Anne Frank.
