Andor and Vera Sichermann were transported from Sajószentpéter to the Miskolc ghetto. In the middle of June, 1944 the ghetto was emptied: its inhabintants were deported on five trains to Auschwitz-Birkenau by the Hungarian authorities. The twelve-year-old boy was murdered; his sister survived the Holocaust.
