Iván Stern and his sister, Katalin were transported from Jánosháza to Sárvár by the Hungarian authorities and then deported. The twelve-year-old boy and the ten-year-old girl were murdered along with their mother, Jolán Kastl, in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
