Klára Szipszer

Pásztó, 1932 – Auschwitz-Birkenau, 14-15 June 1944

Klára was 12 years old when she was taken from her home in Pásztó to the concentration camp at the sugar factory in Hatvan by Hungarian gendarmes. From there they were deported on 12 June. Her 16-year-old brother Imre was taken off the train in a rescue operation and survived the war as a labor serviceman. The train arrived at Auschwitz-Birkenau on 14 or 15 June 1944. Klara was killed in a gas chamber on the day of arrival.
