Budapest, 21 August 1928 – Ohrdruf, 30 December 1944
Ervin was arrested by the Arrow Cross when he was 16. In November 1944 he was deported to the Buchenwald concentration camp, where he was given the prisoner number 111412. From there, he was soon sent to the subcamp codenamed Aussenkommando SIII in Ohrdruf for slave labor. On 31 December 1944, he was already in the Nordlager (northern camp) hospital, where he died of enteritis at 19.00 in the evening. The Nazis forged documents relating to the deaths of prisoners on a massive scale. However, we know that most of the deaths in Ohrdruf during this period were indeed caused by starvation and chronic diarrhea due to poor sanitation. So the diagnosis may even have been correct.
