At the age of thirteen, József and his family were taken from Tárnok to the Bicske ghetto. From there they were transported to Komárom and deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau. He was executed together with his mother, Rosa Rosenbaumné Kern, her sister Gizella Kern and her son Jenő Zubek.
