Szeged, 1943 – Neunkirchen (Austria), 1945
András was one year old when he and his parents were sent to the brick factory in Szeged. In the summer of 1944, they were deported not to Auschwitz but to the labor camps near Strasshof in Austria. András died in a camp for slave laborers working on construction sites in Neunkirchen.
András’ memory is preserved in the footage taken with the camera by his father, György Pető, which can also be seen in Péter Forgács’ film “Örvény” (Whirl): http://www.forgacspeter.hu/magyar/filmek/Az+%D6rv%E9ny/54
