Pincehely, 11 September 1940 – Auschwitz-Birkenau, 8 July 1944
Four-year-old Veronika lived with her family in Pincehely, Tolna County. In May 1944, the Jews from the village and the surrounding area were moved to a ghetto in two groups of houses on the outskirts of the village. At the end of June they were transferred to the Kaposvár collection camp. The train carrying the Pincehely Jews left on 6 July 1944 and arrived at the Birkenau ramp on 8 July 1944. Four-fifths of the victims were immediately sent to the gas chambers, including Veronika and her mother.
