Bakonyszentkirály, 1941 – Auschwitz-Birkenau, 8 July 1944
Only a few Jewish families lived in the small village of the Bakony hills, including the young married couple Sándor Krausz and Erzsébet Újhelyi. They had two boys. In May 1944, they were taken to the ghetto in Pápa, from where they were deported in early July. The transport from Pápa arrived in Birkenau on 8 July 1944. a. The three-year-old Gábor and his six-year-old brother, Miklós were killed right upon arrival. The fate of the parents is unknown.
