Miskolc, 1939 – Auschwitz-Birkenau, 12-16 June 1944
Five-year-old Tamás and his seven-year-old brother Dénes lived with their mother in the family house on Görgey Street in Miskolc. Their father was presumably called up for labour service. The small family was moved to the ghetto in Miskolc in May 1944. From there, they were driven to the brick factory in Tatár Street, from where deportation trains left for Auschwitz-Birkenau between 12 and 15 June. Tamás, Dénes and their mother were killed in a gas chamber after arrival.
