Felsőzsolca, 1936 – Auschwitz-Birkenau, 12-16 June 1944
Lajos Háber, a timber merchant, and his wife EtelFischl raised three children in their house in Felsőzsolca. In the spring of 1944, the head of the family was called up for labour service. At the end of May, his family was taken to the collection camp at the brick factory in Miskolc. From there, they were deported to Auschwitz in mid-June, where they shared the fate of the majority of the Jews in Miskolc. Anna, Róbert and Judit went with their mother to the gas chamber. Their father perished in the death march to the western border at Mosonszentmiklós.
