17-year old András and his family members were deported from the Oradea ghetto to Auschwitz. There he was selected for work, and on 19 June 1944 he was sent in a transport of Hungarian prisoners to the Mauthausen camp complex, where he was toiling at an outside workplace (AussenkommandoQuarz) in the Melk subcamp. He died of the ordeal at dawn on 2 December 1944.
