Ottó Krausz

Debrecen, 27 July 1940. – Auschwitz-Birkenau, 26 or 28 June 1944

Ottó, five years old, lived with his parents in a small house at 3 Zsák Street in the Orthodox quarter of Debrecen. In May 1944 the area became part of the Debrecen ghetto. At the end of the month, this part of the ghetto was liquidated and the Krausz family was moved to the Hatvan Street part of the ghetto. From there, on 16 June 1944, they were transferred to the collection camp in the Debrecen brick factory, and at the end of June 1944 the family was deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Otto and his mother were killed in a gas chamber shortly after their arrival.
